How do I dedicate my gift to someone?
After choosing your payment method, you'll have the option to make a dedication. You can choose to have an email sent to the honoree or their relative with your own custom message. And just click on the eCard option if you'd like to include an Oakland Zoo animal photo. The gift amount will not be shared.
Is my gift tax-deductible?
Yes. Oakland Zoo is a tax-exempt organization, and your donation is tax deductible within the guidelines of U.S. law. You'll be emailed a receipt upon successful completion of your donation.
Why am I seeing a transaction fee?
Platform and payment processor fees average 5% per gift. We ask you to cover the fee by default, but just toggle the option upon checkout if you'd rather not cover it. Online gifts require the least staff resources to process, although we are grateful to receive your gift in another way if you prefer.
